What is GLA:D?
GLA:D stands for “Good Life with osteoArthritis: Denmark.” It’s a world-leading education and exercise program developed by researchers in Denmark to help people with hip and knee OA. The program has been rolled out globally, and countless studies show it works — often delaying or even reducing the need for surgery.
At its heart, GLA:D helps you:

What does the program involve?
The GLA:D program at Outreach Physiotherapy runs over six to eight weeks and includes:
Two education sessions
Learn what osteoarthritis really is (hint: it’s not just “wear and tear”), why exercise is the best medicine, and how you can take control.12 small-group exercise sessions
Tailored, supervised exercises led by our physiotherapists in our purpose-built gym. We’ll work on strengthening, balance, and functional movements that translate to everyday life.Personalised assessments
We measure your progress so you can see the improvements in your strength, walking, and confidence.
